Brunsviga B

Yet another very nice early Brunsviga B, bought from Sweden, and in very nice condition, with what seems to be original paint and patent decals, and seemingly also very little use. The serial number places it around 1897. An interesting addition to this machine can be seen in the first picture - the numbers in the result and counter register seem suspiciously yellow for a Brunsviga. The reason for this is that a strip of rather crudely cut yellowed celluloid has been added somewhere in the distant past, to keep dust and grime out of the carriage. Whereas usually the zeroes are much dirtier than the other numbers, in this case they remained fresh as a daisy. The metal cover being present also helps, obviously. I have considered taking the strip out - it just sits loose on the three support points of the carriage cover, and is held place only by screwing the cover down, but in the end I decided this was a charming enough idea to keep it in place.

Now,just some pictures to enjoy...
