Original Odhner 239/1049

The last death throes of the Original Odhner firm, who had this decidedly futuristic looking machine designed by Sigvard Bernadotte de Wisborg and Acton Bjørn in the mid-1950s. Little did they know their business was shortly going to be blown out of the water by the electronic calculator. Many were made, and today they are common. This one, however, has a problem that I cannot find the solution to. It does work, but it is very stiff, and one of the numeral wheels is shifted up (or down) half a number, and I cannot figure out why. I got this machine from an avid collector of typewriters and calculators, who displayed his collection in a local museum. I sold him a Mignon typewriter and got this machine in part exchange. Thank you, Staf!
